Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. TrueMas realized at a very early age that he had a calling in the music industry. True Master’s Commitment to Social and Criminal Justice Reform

Unfortunately in 2011, with no prior criminal history whatsoever, not even a misdemeanor conviction, TrueMas suddenly found himself being arrested 5 times in only 7 months. The false accusations against True seemed to get worse with each arrest, with the first arrest being for allegedly selling drugs and then finally culminating with being falsely accused of sexual assault and subsequently an alleged felony escape case.

True was determined to represent himself under these serious allegations which could have sent him to jail for the rest of his life. After spending over 4 years on Rikers Island, he was finally able to force the prosecution to go to trial, and was found not guilty of Criminal Sexual Act 1st Degree and acquitted of the felony escape. However a partial verdict mistrial was declared for the remaining counts because the NY County prosecutor on his case had deliberately avoided completely testing the rape kit after the initial tests disproved the most serious allegation of Criminal Sexual Act.

After True’s trial he was illegally and imorally forced to pay for the remaining tests of the rape kit to fully exonerate himself, and he also discovered that the prosecution had been withholding exculpatory evidence of his innocence.

It was not until the beginning of this year 2020, that the actual Orders of Dismissal In Favor of the Accused were finally issued for the Sexual Assault indictment, and an alleged misdemeanor menacing as a hate crime indictment which was dismissed without ever informing True who it was that he was alleged of menacing 9 years ago.

True’s amazing story in one of perseverance and eventual vindication, but not without his life being forever changed. With N.Y. second only to Texas for the most wrongful convictions, True is now committed to exposing the corruption of the NYPD and NY District Attorney’s Office, and he also wants to help others like him, who may be wrongfully accused and denied their ‘due process’ of the lawwho may be alleged of a crime.

Defenders Of Due Process is the name of True’s new non profit foundation. He is also now working on a book and a documentary about how he defeated 5 criminal cases alleged against him. Be sure to check the Defenders Of Due Process Podcast on this website and all major platforms.
